3/5/2008

Financial Institution participates at National Careers Exhibition in Sharjah with new and improved career development programmes

Commercial Bank International (CBI) today announced that it will continue to build and strengthen its commitment to its emiratisation programme this year; as the leading financial institution participated at the National Careers Exhibition held at the Sharjah Expo.

As always, CBI will offer specialised career development and training programmes that include insights into branch management, retail banking, corporate and investment banking. Career development training The programmes are specifically designed for the emerging UAE national youth and will help identify professional acumen and undiscovered potential for the banking sector in the country.

“Our focus on investing proactively in our nation’s development continues to be of utmost importance at CBI. We’re looking forward to providing internships and work placement programs to students; as always we will continue to highlight our commitment to our national students,” said Abdualla Amer Jasem, Head of HR and Administration at CBI
CBI will host a stand at the Sharjah Expo Centre over the course of the National Exhibition and will be available to answer questions on new careers within the banking sector, training and development programmes and employment policies and growth prospects available at CBI.

“Our corporate philosophy draws its strength from our commitment to our customers, innovation and promise and our aim is to effectively communicate identity and vision, not only in services, but also through our people.  Our efforts are aimed to encourage and optimize the deployment of national human resources in our banking operations, facilitating an environment that nurtures the growth of UAE nationals as successful professionals,” added Jasem.

CBI’s emiratisation efforts will be overseen by the bank’s Training and Development Department that provides well-structured strategies for recruitment, training, development and placement of UAE nationals to run highly potential businesses.

CBI’s training and development teams evaluate performance and progress updates of each employee to ensure that employees’ efficiency levels are up to standard. The standards presently maintained often exceed the bank’s expectations. Competitive compensation packages are implemented in order to motivate and enhance employee productivity.

“We’ve been experiencing the fruits of our labour by continuously designing and fine-tuning our human resource strategies. We’re now concentrating our efforts to finalising our Model Training Centre that will see CBI pool all of its training and development programmes into one single resource centre. The goal is to facilitate a smooth transition from a training environment into work force with active hands on experience.”
