CBI, a corporate and retail bank headquartered in Dubai and incorporated in Ras al-Khaimah, visited and provided support for child patients and their mothers, and mothers working as hospital staff, at two well-established hospitals in Ras al-Khaimah in celebration of International Happiness Day and Mother’s Day.

Hessa Al Ghurair, head of Corporate Social Responsibility and Chief Human Resources Officer at CBI met with Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed Al Hashimi, Chief of Government and International Relations Officer, and Dr. Abdulla Al Nuaimi, Director of Ras Al-Khaimah Medical District. At Saqr Hospital and Sheikh Khalifa Specialist Hospital, CBI provided toys for children under the age of five; Arabic books for young patients aged five to ten including Two Great Leaders written by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; and flower bouquets for mothers of child patients and working mothers at the hospitals.

Ms. Al Ghurair commented:
“We are proud to support Saqr Hospital and Sheikh Khalifa Specialist Hospital, two of Ras al-Khamaih’s biggest hospitals, by celebrating the powerful role of a mother and focusing on bringing happiness to young patients. As a UAE-based bank, we take our role in the community seriously and believe that all organizations must positively contribute to the well-being and social progress of the communities they operate in.”

She added: “This initiative forms part of CBI’s wider CSR programme which is fully aligned with the UAE’s Year of Giving, and also supports the UAE’s national programme for happiness and positivity. Happiness is an important metric and is integrated into all of CBI’s CSR programmes.”

CBI was incorporated in 1991 in the Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah, where both hospitals are located. Saqr Hospital was constructed in 1981 as the Emirate's biggest public hospital. The Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah was opened in February 2015 to become the largest specialist hospital in the Middle East.
